After a 23-day and 760,000-kilometer “moon trip”, they returned to the National Plant Aerospace Breeding Engineering Center for planting. After more than a year of cultivation, scientific researchers have successfully transplanted “space rice” from the greenhouse to outdoor experimental fields. At Huacheng Farm, visitors can truly feel the “magical power” of technology empowering the modern seed industry.

The park is located on the Qianjin Sixth and Qishe Flower Bed Planting Sites opposite the south gate of Qianjin Primary School. In recent years, with the continuous development of cities, Tianhe District has not been confined to traditional agriculture. It has used the regional scientific and technological innovation strength to feed back the transformation of agriculture to digitalization, forming new agricultural industries such as seed research and development, digital agriculture, and urban agriculture. According to statistics, there are 20 agricultural high-tech enterprises recognized in Tianhe District, including 30 leading agricultural enterprises at all levels. In 2020, the annual output value of leading enterprises reached 19.2 billion yuan.
At the same time, there are many agricultural research institutions in Tianhe District and outstanding scientific and technological strength. According to reports, Tianhe has 15 agricultural scientific research and promotion institutions, and scientific research institutions in the district have made major technological breakthroughs in the fields of plant resource collection and appraisal, animal and plant variety selection and breeding.
The Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences located in Tianhe has built one National Key Laboratory for Livestock and Poultry Breeding, 6 National Germplasm Resources Breeding, and 3 Ministry of Agriculture’s Germplasm Resources Breeding, and nearly 60,000 domestic and foreign germplasm resources were collected and preserved. In addition, there are 108 seed production and operation enterprises in Guangzhou, including 48 in Tianhe District, accounting for44.4% of the city’s total. Looking forward to the 14th Five-Year Plan, Tianhe will base itself on the newly built agricultural theme parks and other platforms, and vigorously promote the agglomeration and development of seed industry, urban agriculture and digital agriculture. It is reported that Tianhe District has formed the “Policy Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Digital Agriculture in Tianhe District, Guangzhou”, which covers multiple aspects such as industry, innovation, talents, intellectual property rights and enterprise services, providing policy support for outstanding enterprises and research institutions in the national and international digital agriculture field to settle in Tianhe.
